Summer wouldn’t be summer without at least a couple of weddings to go to – donning your new frock (or suit), seeing old friends and smiling for the camera all day. And while there’s usually an ‘official’ photographer at most weddings, it’s also become common practice in recent years for the happy couple to ‘crowd-source’ their wedding albums from pictures taken by their guests. With the huge range of user-friendly digital cameras available these days, you don’t need a tripod or fancy equipment to get great wedding photos.

Unlike the official photographer, who will be most likely be tasked with a long list of posed photos to plough through, you’ll have more of an opportunity to snap the ‘behind the scenes’ action, getting close-ups of friends and family who might not make it into the official shots. Think of yourself as the diarist of the day, chronicling all those little happenings that go unnoticed in those more staged wedding photos.
